Socrates questions to optimize students critical thinking

چکیده
The ability to think critically is one of the abilities that must be possessed by students in facing rapid development times. Students' critical thinking skills can developed through Socratic questions. This research find out 1) types questions used learning and 2) whether optimize students' skills. method a qualitative quantitative approach with pretest-posttest group design. subjects were mathematics education who attended linear algebra courses at Muhammadiyah Metro University. Data collection was carried observation tests descriptive data analysis techniques. asked lecturers include clarification, investigative assumptions, reasons, evidence, beliefs. Socrates' stimulate activities strengthen their understanding concepts. increased medium category. are distinguished based on three stages, namely introduction stage, lecturer clarification At core evidence/reasons, And concluding question clarifying question. results this study expected reference for applying learning, especially courses.
